Why learn with Jenn

Everyone has a creative eye worth developing.

I didn't start with a photography degree. I learned by doing — in the field, in bad light, with imperfect gear, making a thousand mistakes before I found my eye. Teaching is my way of shortcutting that for you. In a few hours together, I can show you things it took me years to figure out. Colorado is one of the best classrooms on the planet — let's use it.

Questions

What students ask before they sign up.

No. I teach with whatever you have. Whether you shoot on a DSLR, mirrorless, or a smartphone, the fundamentals are the same. The best camera is the one you already own. I'll work with your gear, not against it.

All levels. My Beginner Basics workshops are designed for total beginners — zero assumed knowledge. My Golden Hour sessions are better for people who understand their camera but want to improve their eye for light and composition. One-on-one mentorship is fully customized to wherever you are.

Most workshops are held at carefully scouted locations around Colorado Springs — Garden of the Gods, Chautauqua Park, Palmer Park, and others depending on the season and workshop type. I choose locations with interesting light, beautiful backdrops, and enough space to spread out and practice.

Teen photographers (13+) are welcome in workshops with a parent or guardian present. I've taught a lot of young photographers and I love the enthusiasm they bring. If you have a younger child who is serious about photography, reach out — we can discuss a family-friendly private session.

Workshop dates are announced on my Instagram and via my email list. When a date is posted, you can register and pay through this site. Spots are limited and fill quickly — joining the waitlist or email list is the best way to get first access.

Workshops are non-refundable but transferable. If you can't attend, you can transfer your spot to someone else or apply it toward a future workshop date. Life happens — I'm reasonable. Just reach out as soon as you know.
